Why Not?

I see no reason not to legalize M.J. If we do look at what it could do for the economy. New crop for farmers, more money for the government through taxation, and more money for gocery stores for "munchies" and soda. The governemnt could regulate it and keep control of it better, and make it safer for people to use. i do realize that there will be an age limit and that there will be not using and driving, however i would rather have people useing what is natural than something that is man made, and that will kill you faster. man made alcohol and cigs, god made m.j. who do you trust.

Mj is illegal for a reason it harms u and can cause death. The short-term effects of marijuana can include problems with memory and learning; distorted perception; difficulty in thinking and problem solving; loss of coordination; and increased heart rate. Research findings for long-term marijuana use indicate some changes in the brain similar to those seen after long-term use of other major drugs of abuse. For example, cannabinoid (THC or synthetic forms of THC) withdrawal in chronically exposed animals leads to an increase in the activation of the stress-response system(6) and changes in the activity of nerve cells containing dopamine(7). Dopamine neurons are involved in the regulation of motivation and reward, and are directly or indirectly affected by all drugs of abuse. One study has indicated that a user’s risk of heart attack more than quadruples in the first hour after smoking marijuana(8). need i say more
