Fans who take sports seriously are what's truly bad for society.

|
Boxing is a bad influence? Well, that contention assumes that sports/sports figures are truly influential! And if that's really the case what exactly does that say about American society? It says our priorities are, perhaps, very, very out-of-whack. Watching two muscle-bound retards beat the hell out of each other and then taking it seriously is sad. Not that most people do but watching these extreme fans live their existences through real athletes is more of a bad influence on children than Holyfield vs. Tyson. Boxers are doing a job that they are good at, and in the same vein as teachers, lawyers, doctors, bankers and so forth. To take that away from them and their ability to make a good living doing it is selfish oppression. Just because your personal interpretation nonsensically dictates boxing negatively impacts society (where's the proof of that, by the way?) doesn't mean it should be stopped/banned? If you actually think boxing hurts you, don't watch it. Read a book instead.

Boxing Shouldn't be Banned!
|
Boxing Shouldn't be banned as a sport because the people that compete in such matches know that they will be hurt one way or another.
Boxing was createdd as a leagal way for people to fight eachother without pulling knives and killing eachother. It then evolved into a sport around the 1900's and still wasn't that violent.
We've all seen Rocky, and we all know that in championship machtes that they make you sign agreements stating that only you and yourself are responsible for the injuries you may suffer.
And when Mr.T does the mega-knockout on Rocky's friend, Mr.T is doing steroids.
Most of the people who get 1 hit K.O.'s had their trainers put steroids in the water before or during matches.
If you want to be sure people aren't using steroids, then provide water for the boxer and don't let the coach refill the bottle. Put a water fountain near the arena so that refills can't be juked.
So if boxing is banned, then people will go back to good ol' street fights.
